How to Update Your Online Directory Listing
Information published in WNC's Online Faculty/Staff Directory is derived from two different systems:
  • Primary Information: NSHE's Human Resource System (HRS)
  • Supplemental information: Information and Marketing Services (IMS)

WNC employees may update their own primary directory information using Employee Self Service (ESS). Information in the IMS system is maintained by Information and Marketing Services.

HRS-ESS Information
In the HRS-ESS system, you can modify the following information that appears in the directory:

  • Office Info Page: Office Phone (and Extension), Office Fax, Campus, E-Mail
  • Personal Info Page: Nickname (replaces first name)

Updating your HRS-ESS Information

  • Log-in to Employee Self Service. (If you are unable to log-in to the ESS system, or have questions, contact WNC Human Resources.)
  • Select either the Office Info or Personal Info from the Main Menu.
  • For both screens, enter the appropriate information and click "Enter". You will be asked to confirm your changes; click enter again to confirm.

Remember to log-out of ESS by selecting "Log-Off" from the Navigation Menu.

IMS Information

  • Supplemental Information: Biography, Website, Picture, Quote
  • Degrees: Add degrees to names, Dr. vs. trailing degree preference
  • Other Information: Almost every other field that is in the HRS system can be modified or added to.

Updating your IMS Information
At the present time, the IMS data is not user editable. Please contact the WNC Webmaster to have any of this information changed.

Faculty and Staff Web Pages Instructions
Web publishing is free for all WNC faculty and staff (see Personal Web Pages). WNC's Web Education Coordinator, Leonard Mackey, offers staff workshops for WNC faculty who wish to publish instructional pages on the Web.

Criterion for inclusion of your Web Page:
Web pages or sites must support the instructional, research, and administrative activities of the college. Pages should not duplicate information already available on the WNC Web site. For more information, see Web Publishing Policies at WNC.

Directory Search

Search for faculty or staff using last name, first name, department or title.

Notes

Changes made in HRS-ESS will not be reflected in the online directory for at least 24 hours.

All information in the IMS database is subject to approval. Not all changes will be allowed. Contact the Information and Marketing Department for more information.

The Nickname field in the HRS-ESS system replaces the first name in the HRS-ESS System.

Only "@wnc.edu" e-mail addresses will be published in the directory, and office phone/fax numbers are not published for part-time employees.
